Is there such thing as a perfect life? It all depends on the individual and how we look at life in general. Majority in the world think that if they can have all the money they can have all their problems solved. Do you believe that money can resolve all of your issues and problems in life? Well, having the unlimited funds will get you a beautiful home wherever you want to build it and even more, exotic cars, vacations around the world, and maybe even help others. Would that be a perfect life? How do you make a house a real home and how do you define success?
I met a business owner, a pretty wealthy woman during a business trip. I sensed right away the minute I saw her that she was burdened. I knew that she has heaviness in her heart and for whatever reason, through the working of the Holy Spirit I’m sure, since I don’t know her that well, she started telling me the story about her son. Apparently he’s always been in trouble pretty much all his life. I quote, “We’ve given him everything all his life because we love him. Now, with a long history of substance abuse, he became mentally challenged and most of the time we’re not sure where he is. When he comes around needing a place to stay for the night once in a while, it makes me happy to let him stay and it’s great to see him, until my husband ends up kicking him out of the house once again. My son truly has a special place in my heart, I love my son in spite the fact he turns out the way he did…Maybe part of the problem was how we brought him up. We’re always busy building the business and we didn’t get to be the parents he needed growing up. It hurts me to see my family this way and it’s making me sick, actually I just got out of the hospital, this situation is taking a toll on me. Now I realized that you can have all the money and “things” in the world, but if you don’t have your health and your loved ones, all of these are just things. I pray to God that He will help us.” Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. Matthew 6:19-21 What are we striving for in life? Are the things we’re pursuing in life the things that will bring balance and harmony to our family, our neighbors, and loved ones, or are they things that will only give us the key to the world’s acceptance, and for some, giving them center stage in the eyes of the world? Work hard and be the very best in your chosen field, but train yourself making God’s word your road map and having your family as part of your daily schedule as well. Yes, it’s tough sometimes when you’re busy to spent quality time with the family, but simple phone calls to your loved ones and your children will go a long way even for a few minutes. You must let them know you are there for them, even much better if you can truly make the time to physically be there for them. Families need each other to console, share, and build God’s culture together to stay in tacked. Our families are falling apart big time in our society and most are failing, it seems that getting out of a relationship is easier than to work on it anymore. What kind of culture are we building in the eyes of our children? You may say …When I reach success, my family will have money and material things in the world, we should then have that balance and we can all enjoy all that we worked hard for travel the world and such. But wait a second. Are you sure that when you reach your success, and along the way only focusing everyday on what you have to do for the business at all times, that when you reach the top years from now, that all the members of your household will still be there in tacked to enjoy and appreciate your success with you? Ask that question to yourself and see if you can figure out a more balanced approach. Try hard not to tell someone the same story I shared with you above; it could happen to anyone who’s in pursuit of the big dreams in the world. If you’re a young family, strive and work hard to build a family with God’s culture and with you as part of it, God will bless you. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Matthew 5:6 Prioritize God’s leading in your life never neglect your family and your responsibilities to them and God will bless you abundantly. |
